  • Maury Bronstein is a co-founder and partner at 1912 Ventures. He has more than 25 years of experience providing brokerage and consulting services to clients including business owners, public companies, private equity firms and their portfolio companies, family offices, lenders, and governments.

    Over the past decade, Mr. Bronstein has executed over $712 million in real estate assignments for clients, encompassing the vast majority of property types and industry sectors: retail, industrial (manufacturing and distribution), office, multifamily, land, hospitality, restaurants, medical, childcare, and special purpose assets. These wide-ranging assignments include the following:

    • Managing acquisitions and dispositions via a traditional brokerage approach and auctions.
    • Representing tenants seeking properties to lease, including build-to-suits.
    • Providing assistance to lenders and borrowers with distressed real estate assets and loan workouts.
    • Establishing the financial value of geographically-dispersed assets in fast-changing markets for potential acquirers and lenders.
    • Overseeing various aspects of operations as a principal of a commercial real estate fund.
    • Leading a turnaround of an international commercial real estate firm’s brokerage division.
    • Serving as a trusted, strategic advisor on a high-profile legal case of first impression that was tried at the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals concerning eminent domain.

    His clients primarily work in the following market segments and have decision-making authority on their real estate.

    In addition to real estate, Mr. Bronstein has advised on over $35 billion in corporate assignments, including large-scale mergers and acquisitions. His significant and varied operating and transactional experience empowers him to identify value, creatively solve problems, make highly implementable recommendations, and successfully manage assignments to meet the particular financial and operational goals of each client. He has been recognized as a Heavy Hitter by the Houston Business Journal.

    Prior to establishing 1912 Ventures, Mr. Bronstein honed his commercial real estate skills and investment management acumen at renowned firms such as Situs and Arthur D. Little. In addition to deep experience in the Texas market, he has worked with clients all over the United States and internationally. A third-generation Houstonian, Maury leverages a rich history of local relationships and market knowledge to proactively identify opportunities that best fit his clients’ needs.

  • John S. Wall, Jr. is a co-founder and partner at 1912 Ventures. He has more than 14 years of experience providing brokerage and consulting services to clients including business owners, public companies, private equity firms and their portfolio companies, family offices, and lenders.

    Through his career, Mr. Wall has executed over $547 million in real estate assignments for clients. These assignments include the following:

    • Managing acquisitions and dispositions via a traditional brokerage approach and auctions
    • Representing tenants seeking properties to lease, including build-to-suits and ground leases
    • Establishing the financial value of geographically-dispersed assets in fast-changing markets for potential acquirers and lenders
    • Providing assistance to lenders and borrowers with loan workouts

    Prior to establishing 1912 Ventures, Mr. Wall was the top-producing real estate broker at Situs. He served a diverse customer base, closing several complex sale, lease, and advisory transactions across land, retail, office, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, and self-storage properties. He also served as a principal in a commercial real estate fund, for which he sourced acquisitions; conducted acquisition due diligence; recommended and oversaw property-level improvements post-acquisition to increase value; and managed asset sales.

    John’s efforts, most notably as a problem solver and executor, earned him acknowledgement as a Houston Business Journal “Heavy Hitter”, recognizing Houston’s leading commercial real estate brokers. In addition to deep experience in the Texas market, he has worked with clients all over the United States.
